Entry requirements

  • UNT — minimum score established annually by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The University accepts results from the January, March, and June sittings.
  • IB Diploma — final scores only (not predicted). Certificate must not have expired more than two (2) years prior to enrollment.
  • A-level — final scores only (not predicted). Certificate must not have expired more than two (2) years prior to enrollment.
  • NIS Certificate (Grade 12) — final scores only (not predicted). Certificate must not have expired more than two (2) years prior to enrollment.
  • Olympiad Winners — 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place winners of international or republican Olympiads approved by the Ministry. Submission of Olympiad diploma required. Mandatory interview with the relevant academic School.
  • Summer Intensive Program (SIP) — an alternative admissions route for applicants who do not meet standard entry requirements. Upon successful completion and passing the Placement Test, students receive a USD 2,000 scholarship applied to Year 1 tuition. Learn more
  • International Applicants — equivalent national secondary education qualification required, assessed individually by the Admissions Committee. Supporting documents must be accompanied by notarized translations into English if not originally in English, Kazakh, or Russian.

Deadlines & Application fees

Deadline August 25, 2026 The main UNT (Unified National Testing), which qualifies candidates for a grant, will take place from May 10 to July 10; registration runs from April 11 to April 25.
The application window for a bachelor's degree educational grant is July 13–20.
Grant recipients are enrolled at their universities by August 25.

Other documents

  • Valid national ID card or passport (scanned copy for online application; original for verification at enrollment).
  • Digital photograph in JPEG format (minimum 8 MP, 300 dpi).
  • Medical certificate (Form 075-U or equivalent for foreign nationals).
  • Interview — all first-year undergraduate and graduate applicants will be invited to an interview as part of the assessment and offer decision process.
  • Foreign nationals must present equivalent national qualifications, assessed individually by the Admissions Committee. The University reserves the right to request certified translations of all documents into English or Kazakh.

Graduate programs

Entry requirements

  • Bachelor's degree holders — minimum GPA of 2.67 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent), with official transcript. Programs with higher thresholds are specified in the Program-Specific Requirements Annex.
  • Graduate Entrance Test — one of the following: CT (Comprehensive Testing, mandatory for Kazakhstani citizens); GMAT* (accepted for MBA and business programs); GRE* (accepted for all graduate programs).
  • Statement of Purpose — 500–1,000 words. Alternatively, applicants may submit a letter of recommendation or attend an interview, as specified by the relevant academic School.
  • Letter of Recommendation — required for MBA, MPA, and management programs.
  • CV / Official Labour Record — required for all graduate applicants.
  • International Applicants — equivalent national higher education qualification required, assessed individually by the Admissions Committee. Supporting documents must be accompanied by notarized translations into English if not originally in English, Kazakh, or Russian.
  • *GMAT and GRE are not mandatory — the CT serves as the local standard. GMAT and GRE are accepted as equivalent alternatives for graduate applicants where applicable.
